We are happy to present this beautiful, cohesive re-design of a modern Yaletown condo, right here in our home city of Vancouver, B.C.
Justin Williams, the young CEO of
Williams and White &
Remtech took possession of his condo a short five months ago and the transformation of an already beautiful space with Bellavita Tile is nothing short of spectacular. On the 25th floor of Concord Pacific's 2005 twin building development dubbed
The Max, it's difficult for anything to compete with the 180 degree view overlooking the newly renovated
BC Place Stadium and Yaletown proper.

| Taken from living space towards bar |
The entire space is clad in only two of our materials. The understated concrete look of
Ethos Series 118M, a 12x24" unglazed porcelain, skins all the flooring throughout the entire space providing a saturated but neutral palette and our newest glass series
Corduroy in Aubergine Offset is used for vibrant splashes of color in the bathroom, kitchen and a classy bar feature-wall separating the kitchen from the living space. You will notice the link for Corduroy is to another blog post at this time- This material is so new it's not even on our website yet!
The scheme of warm charcoal grey and shades of eggplant purples pervade the entire condo from door mat to artwork- creating a striking new take on minimalism that retains a livable feel.
Prior to installing the tile Justin worked with
Christy &
Simon from
NuHeat to provide a stand-alone radiant heating solution for the space. You will notice in the pictures there are no baseboard heaters to ruin the clean, unified design of the space. Click on Simon or Christy's names to send an email requesting more info on their systems. After all, radiant heat under a hard surface with thermal mass like porcelain is
the most efficient way to heat a space!
The installation of the material was accomplished flawlessly by Ehren Tixon's crew
Square Pusher Tile. As a longtime installer myself, trained under two master-trades from Germany, I have a
very critical eye and I was hard-pressed to find a single flaw in the entire installation.
And now, on to the pictures!

| Backsplash plays beautifully against the glass vessel sink |
 |
I left the door handle in to show how small the bath is- Vindicating my
longstanding opinion that small bathrooms don't have to be light colored |
 |
| Buttery smooth 118M Ethos looks as good on walls as floors |
 |
Tub/shower surround is accented with Corduroy
featured on the plumbing wall |
 |
Tone on tone blend and surface texture make the
high-gloss Corduroy sparkle with deeply nuanced
shades |
 |
Stainless appliances and modern white cabinets let
Corduroy Aubergine make the statement for this kitchen |
 |
No self-respecting foodie's kitchen is complete without
a restaurant style faucet! |
 |
The solid wood bar-top in beautiful honeyed tones is the only concession
to a beige color- makes for a refreshing accent |
Please forgive a short digression here and allow me to talk about this sumptuous bar top. Uniquely West Coast, this solid piece Maple countertop was lovingly crafted from a Fraser Valley tree by Chilliwack native
Rob from
Tree 2 Table. Rob's work is craftsmanship on a level that is hard to come by anymore. With a real organic, raw yet refined feel, this counter is a commanding accent in the space- creating a condo that's a perfect microcosm of our beautiful city... If Vancouver is "The City of Glass" set against the canvas of our forests, this counter makes the condo's design speak the same language as the vistas outside the floor to ceiling windows.

Under-bar lighting makes this room divider a striking
focal-point in daylight & evenings |
 |
| Refined elegance |
 |
High quality Ethos Porcelain and top-notch install
by Square Pusher Tile combine for a perfect floor |
 |
The addition of NuHeat radiant electric heating system
makes the space warm and inviting without a single
ugly baseboard heater to detract from the design |
 |
Bellavita Tile's timeless designs create the
perfect canvas for any style |
To bring everything together, Justin commissioned a custom painting from local North Shore artist
Zarra Lambert. Click her name to email for details on custom works for your own space.

| All the colours and movement in the tile are captured beautifully in this Westcoast landscape abstract by Zarra Lambert |
And just because we're design freaks here at Bellavita, we had to point out the color match outlets and cover plates used on the Corduroy installations. Don't settle for simple white outlets to mar an exquisite glass installation- options are out there. Investigate at your local electrical suppliers!
